April Highlights

What’s New?

What a fun fortnight of children’s holiday activities it has been… it’s been all things Easter from card making, rabbits, eggs, Easter trees and getting especially messy with delicious goodies of all descriptions! We were so pleased to see so many of you there, most of our classes were full with many familiar faces and lots of new ones which is awesome.

Thank YOU for the music…! We had such an amazing day of singing the best ABBA hits on our ABBA Choral day earlier in the month. After learning unique ensemble arrangements we held an impressive performance in front of the family and friends in an informal afternoon concert which was thoroughly enjoyed. We are grateful for all of your future choral day suggestions, look out for the next one on our social media and website.

On 10th April we were joined by Elizabeth Saunders, Wendy Fleckner, the Mayor and others in the d.@rt foyer to see a presentation called ‘Gathering Memories’. It was about a project that Elizabeth and Wendy amongst others have been working towards, raising awareness and money for The Alzheimer’s Society, which they did. They raised an impressive total of £7,042.59!!!

Check out our latest exhibition in the d.@rt foyer. The work on display in this exhibition shows a myriad of responses to the theme of ‘Reflection’ whether thoughtful or physical. Artists exhibiting include: Sue Dornom, Sarah Fletcher, Iris Hill, Elizabeth Lea, Emma Morrissey, Steve Richardson, Elizabeth Saunders and Mihaela Zhekova Price, click here to view the programme. ‘Reflections’ will remain on display until 24th May 2019.

Don’t Forget…

Date for the Diary… 2nd May for our next Wave Film Society Screening of ‘Crazy Rich Asians’. The Wave Film Society is our monthly film club where members can watch new and classic releases on the big screen at a budget price. Each month members can choose from a shortlist of 5 films, encompassing a range of genres and styles, and the film with the most votes is screened at our next session. Each screening includes time before and after the film to relax in our foyer with a complimentary tea or coffee and chat with like minded film fans. So come along, sit back, watch the film and then vote for the next one…
