Spring term begins on Thursday 11th January 2018.
Our established Community Choir will be celebrating their 25th anniversary in 2018. The choir which began as a work place choir for staff at Wildern School, quickly developed into a community choir with staff, pupils and community members all enjoying the range of styles brought to the choir by it’s successive musical directors. We are happy to name previous musical directors as:
- Wayne Landen / Anna Graham founders of the Wildern Community Choir
- Alex Gray
- Penny Hastings
- Jessica Ward
- Alex Diaz
- Tom Denton https://www.starnow.com/tomdentonkeys
- Sarah Louise Chitty (nee Ellard) http://www.sarah-louise-ellard.co.uk
We have enjoyed our first term and series of Christmas Concerts with our latest MD Becky Griffin and look forward to more of the same .
Wildern Community Choir, which has over 50 active members, is open to singers aged 14-99, regardless of previous experience or musical knowledge. The emphasis is not only on singing together, but enjoying an uplifting session every week with friends.
Preparing for a concert for the Singing for the Brain group at Thornhill Baptist Church at the beginning of December 2017.
Whilst many members love the opportunity to perform work in the local community and attend festivals / performances locally and further afield, it is not essential that all members do.
New members are always welcome!
