We are pleased to be able to hire the Main Hall at the King’s Community Church, Upper Northam Road, Hedge End, Southampton, SO30 4BZ which is situated very close to junction 7 of the M27 as you head towards Hedge End village.
There is ample parking for 300+ cars. You can also use Turnpike Way which is opposite the golf course (next door). Parking is available for a few coaches, but please let us know if you intend to use a coach.
The festival will be held at the Kings Community Church in Hedge End. The main hall seats about 300, plus a gallery area seating 99. Visitors are most welcome and choirs are encouraged to bring friends and supporters. As choirs will be sitting in the audience until their performance slot the gallery will be used solely for visitors.
The platform will take a maximum of 72 persons. It is semi-hexagonal in shape and will accommodate 6 rows in the following pattern:-

An electric piano will be provided and basic PA for the playing of backing tracks only.
The festival takes place on Saturday May 14th 2016.
There are 3 sessions in which 5/6 choirs will perform:- 11am – 12.30 pm / 1pm – 2.30 pm / 3 pm – 4.30 pm. A separate rehearsal room will be available from 10am. A rehearsal timetable table will be issued some-time in April once all details have been submitted by choirs.
The final programme will be published when all the details from the participating choirs are in and agreed. There will be a programme available on the day, free to all singers.
Choirs need to submit their final programme by March 26th so that they can be collated and printed. PLEASE remember that a choir’s set is limited to 15 minutes max and MUST take into account getting to the platform, MD’s introductions and comments, and applause. It is vital that choirs stick to this timing so as not to over-run the sessions and to be fair to other choirs who keep within their time.
The cost is £3 per singer. This will cover the hire of the hall, insurance and performing rights license. The complete fee is due by March 26th
There is no charge for audience members. If you would like to come and see the event without singing, simply turn up on the day.

Basic refreshments (tea/coffee/biscuits) will be available throughout the event. Other places to eat are close by:- The opposite side of junction 7 has a large M&S, Sainsbury’s, McDonalds & Burger King. If you carry on down Upper Northam Road you reach Hedge End village, where there is Domino’s Pizza, a Subway (in Budgens), a Chippy and The Barleycorn Pub.

There is also space at the venue for 3 advertising stalls, which individual choirs may wish to rent to advertise their group. The cost of a stall is £10 per session or £25 for all three sessions. To enquire use contact info below. A space constitutes the width of one trestle table. The table will be provided but choirs are welcome to set up display boards behind.
A table will be situated at the entrance for any choir to display flyers and posters for forthcoming concerts and membership details.
