Dan Cooper

Dan started teaching one to one singing lessons in 2009 after studying with world renowned vocal coaches. He studied under an organisation known as Speech Level Singing. This technique is based on science and research and artists such as Whitney Houston, Stevie Wonder, Kelly Clarkson and many more have studied under this method. Since then, he has taught a countless number of lessons and has helped a variety of singers reach their goals and develop their skills.
Alongside one to one singing lessons, Dan runs and leads Love Soul Choir, a professional choir based in Southampton and Bournemouth. The choir perform at weddings, theatre shows and all sorts of other events.
Dan also runs SingForce. An organisation that provide workplace choir sessions to companies as a way of helping reduce stress in the workplace. Current clients include; Marwell Zoo, Southampton Solent University, Southampton City Council, Irwin Mitchel, B&Q, Barton Peveril, Mayflower Theatre and many more.
During the workshop, Dan will initially explain a little bit about vocal technique and how to get the most out of your voice. He’ll then teach a song using his method of teaching which involves learning by ear and without lyrics. It’s a sure way to quickly help you gain confidence and see how you can create a big sound as a choir relatively easily. It’ll be lots of fun, that’s for sure.

Audience members:

Audience members can participate in the workshop for just £3. There is no cost for audience members to watch performance sessions 1, 3 and 4, however workshop places must be booked in advance.

If you would like to come and see the event without singing, simply turn up on the day.

Payment should be made direct to The d.@rt Centre, on 01489 779471  either by credit cards or cheque made payable to Wildern School. Please check with your choir leader as to whether they will be collating all choir details or requiring to book independently.

If booking independently, please let us know which choir you are from when booking.

Choirs need to submit their final programme by March 31st so that they can be collated and printed. PLEASE remember that a choir’s set is limited to 15 minutes max and MUST take into account getting to the platform, MD’s introductions and comments, and applause. It is vital that choirs stick to this timing so as not to over-run the sessions and to be fair to other choirs who keep within their time.

There will be a café open offering a range of hot and cold snacks throughout the day. Other places to eat are close by:- The opposite side of junction 7 has a large M&S, Sainsbury’s, McDonalds & Burger King. For any event of this size it takes a lot of organising and running. If you would like to get involved, especially to help steward on the day please contact Peter Allen at

There is some advertising space available in the programme, for further details please contact Peter Allen at

A table will be situated at the entrance for any choir to display flyers and posters for forthcoming concerts and membership details.
